Atmospheric Integrated Research for Understanding Chemistry at Interfaces (AirUCI)
The Hemminger group is one of six research groups at the University of California, Irvine that participates in this institute.
Institute for Surface and Interface Science
UCI is the home for the Institute of Surface and Interface Science (ISIS). The Hemminger group is an active participant of ISIS.
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
The Hemminger group has made use of the user facilities at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for several years. We perform ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy experiments at the Advanced Light Source synchrotron. There we work at the Molecular Environmental Sciences Beamline (11.0.2) with Hendrik Bluhm as well as at the Material Sciences Beamline (9.3.2) with Bongjin Simon Mun. More recently, the group has begun scanning polarization force microscopy experiments at the Molecular Foundry with Paul Ashby.
